1. These terms

These terms apply when you use the Velvet Moth website, opening list, online enquiry tools and booking features. By using the website you agree to use it lawfully and in accordance with these terms.

2. Website information

We aim to keep service descriptions, prices, availability and other website information accurate and current. Content may change as services, operating hours and salon arrangements change.

Website content is general information and is not a guarantee that a particular service, result, time or appointment will be suitable or available for every person.

3. Opening list and access codes

Joining an opening list does not create or reserve an appointment. Access codes may be used to identify eligibility for a particular opening release or offer. Unless we state otherwise, an access code has no cash value and does not guarantee appointment availability.

4. Bookings

A booking is confirmed only when the booking system displays confirmation or we otherwise confirm it with you. Appointment times remain subject to the service selected, stylist availability and any booking conditions shown during checkout.

Please provide accurate contact details so we can send service communications and contact you if an appointment needs attention.

5. Prices and payments

Prices shown on the website are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. A “from” price means the final price may vary where the service legitimately depends on factors identified before or during the appointment, such as required time, hair length, density, product use or agreed service changes.

If online or card payment is offered, payment processing may be provided by a third-party payment provider. Velvet Moth does not intentionally store full payment-card details in its own database.

6. Cancellations, changes and missed appointments

Any cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, late-arrival or no-show conditions that apply to a particular appointment will be shown during booking or otherwise communicated before they become part of the booking arrangement. We will not use these terms to remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Consultations and service suitability

Online consultation and concierge tools help collect information and guide service selection. They are not a substitute for an in-person professional assessment where one is reasonably necessary. Velvet Moth may recommend changing, postponing or declining a service if information available at the time suggests the requested service is unsuitable or cannot be performed safely or reasonably.

8. Photos and information you provide

You should only upload or send material you are entitled to share. Material supplied for a consultation or booking is used for the relevant salon purpose and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Supplying a photo for consultation does not give Velvet Moth permission to publish it for marketing unless separate permission is obtained.

9. Home-salon location and arrival

Velvet Moth is a private salon. The exact salon address is not published as part of the public website and may be supplied after an appointment is confirmed. Clients must follow reasonable arrival and access instructions provided with their booking.

10. Acceptable use

You must not use the website to:

• make fraudulent, abusive or deliberately false bookings or enquiries;
• interfere with security, rate limits, authentication or availability;
• attempt to access another person’s booking or private information;
• upload malicious code or unlawful material; or
• use automated systems to scrape, overload or misuse the service.

11. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the website design, original text, branding and other original content are owned by or licensed to Velvet Moth. You may view the website for personal use but must not reproduce or commercially exploit original content without permission or another lawful basis.

12. Third-party services and links

The website may rely on or link to third-party services such as payment, messaging, hosting or social platforms. Those providers may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services to the extent permitted by law.

13. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

14. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Velvet Moth is not responsible for loss caused solely by events outside our reasonable control, misuse of the website, or reliance on website information where an individual professional assessment was reasonably required. This clause does not limit rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these website terms when our services or legal requirements change. Changes apply from the date the updated terms are published, except where a different rule is required by law or an existing booking agreement.
